Another 3D treatment technology that we implore is the Simplant system. This interactive system determines the position of each implant with 100% accuracy. For the patient, this means that the implant will be placed precisely where it needs to go, eliminating discomfort.

Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) has made its mark in the medical and dental communities by displaying three-dimensional images. Available since the turn of the 21st century, this method of collecting images takes a 3-D look at an area of the body and gives the medical professional the ability to make diagnose and provide better treatments. In previous years, dentists took Cat scans to get the image, but CBCT is a better alternative because it greatly reduces radiation levels.

In dentistry, CBCT rotates around the patients head and captures data using a cone shaped X-ray beam. The data collected reconstructs a 3-D image of regions of the patient’s anatomy which can include the teeth, maxillofacial region (mouth, jaw and neck) and ears, nose and throat (ENT). We can even bring the CBCT services right to you at your home or at your workplace on a truck for your convenience.

Dr. Morton and his staff like CBCT because it can be used to assist in areas such as dental implant planning, visualizing abnormal teeth, jaw, face and cleft palate assessment, and diagnosing cavities. It also assists dentists with endodontic (root canal) concerns and other dental trauma. CBCT is fast, non-invasive and in very low radiation. It’s much lower in radiation than then Cat scans, we used to use. If you have any further questions, consult us or send in a question.
